i've been sick for the past two days. today i am much better.
a few weeks ago i made the mistake of telling a co-worker that i don't get sick much and i don't think i've ever had the flu. at least not since i was a kid, or at least not that i could remember. on tuesday afternoon, while i was trying to take a nap, i remembered two times i was sick in the past (almost) 15 years. once was my junior or senior year of college. i had a nasty cough that lasted for a couple of weeks. i was coughing so hard that i would choke almost every time. it was miserable. the time before that was my junior year of high school. i had a basketball game while i was recovering but was still really weak. that basketball game was probably one of the best of my career. even though i was only able to play in short spurts because my lungs wouldn't hold up.
today i am drinking plenty of fluids. and hoping i don't see my next sickness for another five years or more.
as a side note: this is one of my favorite friends. i love having old friends. it's one of the best feelings in the whole world. and seeing old friends is even better. i can't wait for april just so i can see some of my favorite friends.

I hope you get to feeling better! It's been awfully cold here, and it's no fun to be sick like that when it's already so miserably freezing!
